“I have been a member of the Miami Israeli Parliament for the past two years. I joined shortly after we moved to Miami directly from Israel, and almost immediately, I felt at home as if I hadn’t really moved to another country at all. At the Parliament, I met incredible people who, despite not knowing me beforehand and owing me absolutely nothing, simply stepped up to help my family and me settle in and feel part of the community. They helped us with finding work, our children’s education, understanding life in Miami, and countless other things, both big and small. It didn’t take long for me to realize that the Parliament is much more than a place to meet it is a community and a family. In a way, it is the perfect alternative to a synagogue for secular Israelis: a place where you can celebrate your Jewish and Israeli identity without a commitment to religion. Only at the Parliament can you sit down over a beer with people from across the entire spectrum right-wing and left-wing, religious and secular, highly motivated young people alongside experienced longtime community members and talk, debate, laugh, and still feel that, at the end of the day, we are all part of the same community. It is a place where you can hear fascinating lectures on a wide variety of interesting topics, participate in community service events, family activities, and initiatives supporting Israel. But more than anything, it is a place where you feel surrounded by a supportive and welcoming community that stands beside you when you need it. At the same time, it gives you the opportunity to give back, to be there for others, and to feel that you are truly part of something meaningful. For me, this is the true strength of the Parliament: it connects people, generations, and different parts of the Israeli and Jewish communities. Because of these connections, our community in Miami is stronger and more united, and the Jewish community throughout the United States is more connected to Israel and more supportive of it.”

“When I arrived in Miami from Israel, I came without any prior connections to the local community and without an established social or business network. The Miami Israeli Parliament quickly became one of the most meaningful ways for me to connect and build a life here. Through the Parliament, I met people who became good friends, partners, clients, and valuable business connections. To me, that is exactly the power of the Parliament—a place where community, friendship, and business come together naturally. One of my favorite examples is a real estate transaction I had the opportunity to be part of: the seller was a member of the Parliament, the buyer was a member of the Parliament, and I, as the person who provided the financing for the transaction, was also a member of the Parliament. Relationships that began through social and community gatherings developed into a real business transaction where everyone could trust one another and create value together. The Parliament played a significant role in helping me establish myself in Miami and in building both my social and business life here. In my view, it is much more than a networking group—it is a genuine community that brings Israelis together, helps people feel at home, and creates friendships and opportunities that are difficult to build anywhere else.”
